International Project “Advocates and Attorneys-at-law between Independence and Market Influences” within the Centre for Interdisciplinary Legal Research

A new project will be run at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Legal Research at the University of Gdańsk, which undertakes comprehensive scientific research on law by integrating methodologies developed across various scientific disciplines, and utilizing digital tools.

The international project “Advocates and Attorneys-at-law between Independence and Market Influences”, with the University of Giessen as the German partner and the Jagiellonian University as the Polish leader (managed by Prof. Michał Biliński), along with partners: the National Chamber of Attorneys-at-law (headed by Prof. Anna Machnikowska, and President of the National Chamber Włodzimierz Chróścik), the University of Gdańsk (managed by Prof. Hanna Wolska), and C.H. Beck Publishing House, has received funding from the Polish-German Foundation for Science.

The project focuses on providing legal assistance by professional representatives, considering the contemporary social and economic landscape and its interrelations within the context of the values characteristic of public trust professions for advocates and attorneys-at-law. The results will be presented at a conference scheduled for 2026 and published afterwards.
